Dr José A. Sanabria-Fernández

José is a quantitative ecologist focused on the resilience of ecological communities. His research explores the mechanisms by which biodiversity enhances stability and recovery capacity under increasing global change pressures. With the aim of translating this work into resilience-based conservation strategies, José develops innovative approaches to support ecosystem recovery and ensure the long-term preservation of biodiversity for future generations.
He is currently a member of the Department of Ecology and Evolution at the Doñana Biological Station (EBD-CSIC), Spanish National Research Council. He is also a visiting postdoctoral researcher at the Global Ecology Lab at James Cook University (JCU), where he applies machine learning techniques to identify global priority areas for the conservation of resilient shallow reef ecosystems. If your interests align with José’s work, please get in touch to explore potential synergies and collaborations.
